    Army Bids and CCR Registration

The newest release of Army purchasing software for SAACONS uses the new 3010 conventions. Simplix-W also uses this convention. The caveat: not only is CCR registration a requirement but so is having your EDI parameters loaded into the system. The ECPN is now translating these message and may respond with an 824:

      A #843 Bid REJECTED because:
#843 Bid can only be accepted if a valid Trading Partner
Profile (#838) containing the same CAGE Code has been
      sent from CCR to ECPN.
No Profile with CAGE "XXXXX" has been sent from CCR.

Some vendors who are properly registered will receive this error message, due to a bug in the ECPN. This is a government bug, and they are working to correct the problem.

Other vendors have filed paper registrations or the government has filed one for them as part of the SEED process at CCR. These vendors need to update their registration from Simplix to have their EDI capabilities included. Simply edit your registration and resubmit it if you receive this message. You should have a TPIN value in place, if you do not, then follow the instructions below.

How do I find out my TPIN?

Call CCR at (888) 352-9333. They will need your Duns number. Then they will tell you they will mail it to you. At this point tell them you need it immediately to submit your bids. Ask them to call you back at the number listed on your registration and give you your TPIN.

Edit your Full Registration and enter your TPIN in the appropriate field.

    CCR Registration

DO NOT REGISTER WITH CCR using anything other than Simplix or you will lose your EDI capabilities and your bids will be rejected by some sites.

Other 824 messages from the Army and an explanation.

If you receive an 824 message from the Army and it says

TA -- Transaction Accepted. All is well.
TR -- Transaction Rejected. This is bad; your transaction was
rejected. An explanation for the rejection is usually included in the 824.

We are working to integrate these messages into the system in a better way. These 824s are being generated from the Army buying activity itself. This means your bid has actually made it to the site in question.

    NECO Online

A few vendors have recently received instructions regarding the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) system. These instructions are not applicable to Simplix clients. We have verified that all necessary information for EDI is available to the sites in question. You do not need to fill out these forms and submit them or contact the sites in question.

    Last Minute Bidding

Bidding at the last minute does not help.

    Standard Procument System

Simplix is pleased to announce that the first EDI RFQs from the next generation of EC/EDI for the Department of Defense have been processed at Simplix and bids have been successfully returned. This new system known as the Standard Procrement System, Procurement Desktop, or PD2. Simplix is pleased to have been chosen to help in the testing of this new system.

    Keyword profiling

Keyword profiling offers another avenue to find opportunities. Since keywords are scanned across all Federal Supply Classes (FSCs), they help you find opportunities that may have been misclassified. Remember, you can have two sets of keywords: one for RFQs and one for CBD.

    Client home page always visible

Under the client options section is an option to have your messages load in a different netscape window from your client account page. This keeps you from having to reload your client home page to go to the next message.

    Speed and Time saving

One of the biggest time savers is email delivery. This is also found under the client options page. Instead of looking at your messages interatively you can have them downloaded as a batch via Email. They will then load much faster as they are already on your hard drive. You can use netscape to read the mail and respond to the opportunities.

    Simplix Electronic Commerce Association

Simplix is working on a new and valuable feature for your business. This would give you the ability to clear credit card orders on line via Simplix. If you are already accepting IMPAC or other cards and would like us to get a quote for you we need a copy of your credit card statement. All the pages are necessary to get a valid quote.

What is even better is this will allow you to process credit cards for type 2 and type 3 transactions. These contain additional data including the types of goods purchased. These cards are used by major companies and are often termed procurement cards. If you are interested please let us know. We think the rates we will offer will make you very happy.

All information will be kept completely confidential other than to provide to the bank and credit card company for getting the rate quote.

    Fax your statement to 248 740 8180.

    Improvements for GSA advantage

We are working on additional catalog entries for GSA advantage. These should be available soon, as well as some fixes for a couple of small details that needed some attention.

More State and Local... A lot more...

Simplix will soon be adding a lot more state and local opportunities. We will have many of the largest cities, almost all of the states, and many State Department of Transportation Bids. These will be profiled by FSC and Keyword. Our current estimate is that this will increase traffic by thousands of opportunities per month.
